After we decorated our eggs, we left them on the table and carefully explained to the boys that while they were sleeping, the easter bunny would then come and leave treats for them in their easter baskets, and then hide the eggs for them to find. They seemed pretty excited, but who really knows what a toddler is thinking. Anyway, the next morning, the boys woke up. We reminded them that the easter bunny had come. They came out of their rooms and got their easter baskets and enjoyed the contents. . .Well, David ate all of his candy right away, but Don. . . well seeing david devour his chocolate figured it was best to protect his stash. Don kept a tight grip on his basket until he was sure David wouldn't steal it then ate his chocolate when no one was around (about two hours later). It was after they had enjoyed the baskets for a while that the looked at the table. . .and noticed their carefully colored eggs were no longer there! For the rest of the morning, and for the next couple of days, whenever somebody mentioned the Easter Bunny, both dave and don would promptly say," Easter bunny stole my eggs!"
We were quick to remind them that the easter bunny just hid them. So we went and found their eggs. It was pretty fun. . . the boys had a good time finding their eggs that the easter bunny had "stolen"
